Music of the Mass “Hymns to Mary”

First off, on behalf of the Sunday 7pm Choir and the whole Music Ministry at our Parish, we wanted to wish you a very Happy New Year to all our Friends, Fellow Parishioners, Supporters, and Brothers & Sisters in Christ!

On January 1st, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. This feast day of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated on the Octave (8th) day of Christmas and is a celebration of Mary being the mother of Jesus.

The English title "Mother of God" is a literal translation of the Latin title “Mater Dei”, which in turn is a rendering of the Greek title “Θεοτόκος” (Theotokos), meaning "Bearer of God".

In honour of this feast day, we would like to share our latest video, "Music of the Mass: Hymns to Mary", a collection of eight (8) beautiful hymns and chants dedicated to the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
