2nd Sunday of Christmas - Year C - Solemnity of Mary & ‘Songs of Mary : Part 2’

Happy New Year to all our Family, Friends, Fellow Parishioners, and Brothers & Sisters in Christ!

Today is the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. In the liturgical calendar of the Roman Rite, a solemnity is a feast day of the highest rank celebrating a mystery of faith.

The Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God is a feast day of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the aspect of her motherhood of Jesus Christ, whom she had circumcised on the 8th day, and is celebrated by the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church on January 1st, the Octave (8th) day of Christmastide.

In honour of this solemnity, we would like to share our latest video ‘Songs to Mary 2’, a beautiful collection of chants, hymns and songs dedicated to our Lady, sung by the Sunday 7pm Choir and the Anno Domini Chamber Singers (a semi-professional choir that one of our S7C choir members was a part of).
