25th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C - “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”

This Sunday’s Psalm (Psalm 113) proclaims, “Praise the Lord who lifts up the needy.” It continues,

Praise, O servants of the Lord;
praise the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time on and forevermore.

In honour of this Psalm, we’d like to share our latest video, “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”, a traditional hymn of praise was written in 1771 by Ignaz Franz, a German Catholic priest as a paraphrase of the Te Deum, a Christian hymn in Latin from the 4th century.

Due to its memorable melody and theme, it is one of the most popular hymns of praise in many dioceses around the world.
