16th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C - Martha, Mary and Jesus & “You Alone”

In this Sunday’s Gospel (Luke 10:38-42), a woman named Martha welcomes Jesus into her home. While she’s distracted by many tasks, her sister, Mary, sits at the Lord’s feet and listens to Jesus speak.

After Martha complains that Mary isn’t helping her, Jesus says, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things…Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.” Mary makes Jesus and his Word her first priority.

In honour of this Gospel, we’d like to share our latest video “You Alone”, a stirring song of praise whose lyrics beautifully complement this weekend’s Gospel:

You alone are holy, you alone are Lord.
You alone are worthy to be honoured and adored.
