Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion - Year C - Palm Sunday & “Jerusalem, My Destiny”

In today’s Gospel (Luke 19:28-40), Jesus comes to Jerusalem in triumphant glory. The people spread their cloaks on the ground for him, wave palm branches and sing in his honour. The whole multitude start saying, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!

In honour of this Gospel, we’d like to share our video “Jerusalem, My Destiny”, a beautiful hymn that centers on Jesus' determined resolve in his final journey to Jerusalem.

From the composer’s own words, "Jerusalem, My Destiny was inspired by ... the centrality of Jerusalem in the imagination of the author of Luke, how the narrative of his gospel builds toward Jerusalem, site of the Passion narrative, the resurrection and the sending of the Holy Spirit, all of which take place in the city."
