7th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year A - Love God & Love Like God | More Songs of Lent
In this Sunday’s Gospel (Mt. 5:38-48), we continue our reading of the marvelous Sermon on the Mount. Jesus’ radical command to love God and to love as God loves, in fact, sounds quite a bit off in our world. Yet it can be the exact message we need to hear, reminding us to take the upcoming 40 days of Lent to reflect upon the narrative of the ultimate, loving sacrifice that paid the costly price for man’s salvation.
By remembering the death of Jesus on the cross, we remind ourselves of the immense power of love and compassion which is able to tear down any wall, especially those of prejudice, selfishness and hate. The opportunity for solemn prayer and reflection gives us a magnified view of the victory that is found in enduring sacrifice. May the spirit of the upcoming Lenten season inspire us to move ahead with faith, love and peace in our hearts as we persevere in bringing lasting and transformative change in our society.
In honour of the upcoming Lenten season, we would like to share our latest video, "More Songs of Lent", a collection of eight (8) sacred Lenten chants and hymns that we hope will enhance your prayers through this solemn season.
