3rd Sunday of Advent - Year A - Lord Jesus, Of You I Will Sing

In the Gospel on this Third Sunday of Advent (Mt. 11:2-11), John the Baptist sent word by his disciples who asked Jesus “Are you the one who is to come, or are we to wait for another?

Jesus applies the words of Isaiah to himself and answers, “Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them.

In honour of this Gospel, we would like to share our latest video, "Lord Jesus, Of You I Will Sing", a hymn that we feel complements this Gospel well as the lyrics say, “Lord Jesus, of you I will sing as I journey. I’ll tell all my brothers about you wherever I go.

This song was originally translated from a French hymn, by Canadian Roman Catholic priest, organist and liturgist Stephen Sommerville (1931-2015). The French hymn it was based on, "Jésus, Je Voudrais" was written by Les Petites Soeurs de Jésus, also known as the Little Sisters of Jesus.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Gaudete Sunday!

God bless,

Edmar
